DIY | Fabric Painting
My parents gave a big party on new years eve, and I thought it would be fun to make my own party dress. I didn’t really now what kind of dress I wanted, so I just started to drape some fabric on my mannequin. I used this white fabric and decorated the edges with some black ribbon. I really had a lot of fun making this dress, but when I finished it, it just seemed to much of a summer dress, because it was so white.
That’s why I decided to add some fabric paint to the bottom part of the dress. This way I can wear it in the winter with a vest, and in the summer without.

The painting process was really easy, so I made you a little tutorial:

( and I am sorry, that I don’t have a tutorial for the dress, but it really was a spontaneous project that I did without any patterns)
Materials:
Fabric Paint, brush, piece of paper, ruler, pencil/chalk

STEP 1
. Place your fabric/dress/skirt as flat as possible on a flat surface.

STEP 2.
Take your ruler and pencil/chalk and draw the lines that you will use as a guide for your fabric paint.

STEP 3.
Take a piece of paper and place it on your drawn line. Now start painting the fabric, making sure that the paper is always flat on the your hand drawn lines.

STEP 4.
Repeat this for as many rows as you like, and you can even mix and match some different colors! And be sure to iron over the paint when it has dried, to fixate it.

I also decided to add some ribbon between my painted lines, and just simply stitched them on the fabric.
